Vintage Easter Greetings

I love Vintage style cards. I love the way they look, all the layers, the colors, the embellishments, everything about them. So When I saw these cute little images over at Magic Moonlight Studio 74 for free, I knew I had to use them.

Now I typically print my images on card stock, but when I bought new color cartridges for my printer, I got a package of free photo paper. So I thought, eh, I'll give it a try.

Wow! the images came out so beautifully, so crisp and clear. The colors just pop, I was sure these would look great on Easter cards.

If you like vintage images, then this is a great site to check out. I was really impressed with everything that was offered up for free and I am sure I will be visiting this site again.

I found this great sentiment on line. I wanted to use something more than just Happy Easter as this is such a special little card.

Thanks for stopping by! Hope you have a fantastic Friday.

Penny Black Hedge Hog

Well first of all I want to say a big THANK YOU to all my followers. I am now up to 41. Now that may not seem like a big number, but I am pretty excited about it. I have a birthday in May and plan on doing some blog candy, but maybe I will do it a little earlier when I hit 50 followers...

Well, the real reason I am here today. I had one more Christmas card I needed to post over at Decosse's Dynamite Doodles 12 months of Christmas and tomorrow is the last day. I got this stamp right after the holidays on clearance at Michael's and have been itching to use it.

I have never used  Penny Black stamp, but have admired them many times. I thought this one was so cute...and simple. I love it. I used a very simple layout to finally use my washi tape. Every time I open my craft drawer I say "Doh...I should have used my washi tape." Well this time I did.

Here is what I used:

  • Paper Studios - Harper's Boutique
  • Washi Tape - K&C Company & Little B LLC
  • Chromatix & Copic Markers
  • Rubber stamp - Penny Black
  • Sentiment - Created with TLC
I would like to enter my card into the following challenges:

Bit By the Bug Beginnings - Another bug is Born

It is mid week already, yee ha! Not only that, but we get to introduce you to a new release over at Creative Bug on the Loose. This is the last image in our "Love is in the Air Collection." I would like to present "Budding Love."
These cute little Bee's make me think of Spring! Ah, we can only wish. But these cute little guys can be used for many occasions, not just Spring. I chose to make a "Bee-lated" Birthday card, as I unfortunately always need one of these on hand. Even if I miss a birthday, family and friends are still getting a card from me.

I put this card together with all items from my stash. I was sifting through my paper and saw this bright yellow designer paper, double sided and I though to myself, perfect. I added Flowers, leaves and buttons along with a sentiment from A Piece of heart.

Now how would YOU like the opportunity to win a copy of this new release?

Creative Bug on the Loose is having a draw to win a copy of Budding Love. To find out what you need to do, make sure you head over to the blog and follow the directions that have been laid out.

Don't miss this exciting opportunity. Head over to Creative Bug on the Loose Now!

Delightful Challenges - Guest Designer

This is my third Guest Designer spot this month. I have been a busy girl. Good thing I love crafting, lol! I was Delighted to be asked on as Guest Designer over at Delightful Challenges. It is such a fun challenge blog and was excited to be able to participate as a Designer this time.

The image I chose to work with is called Bookyworm. When I saw this cute little face, I just could not resist.

See what I am talking about? Isn't he just so adorable? I had some ABC paper left over in my stash from when I made some "Teacher" cards for  my sister, so it worked out perfectly. The chip board letters I have had forever and made a nice addition. And what do you think of that sentiment? I found it on the web and added it as a tag along with a green button and twine.

Here is a close look:

If you have not played over at Delightful challenges, why not try something new and play along this week? Even better, check out their store and see if there is something that tickles your fancy. I am sure they would love the support.

When Irish Eyes are Smiling...

I am feeling a little Irish this morning. I do have Irish blood in me, so I guess that it is aloud. I wanted to make a few St. Patrick's Day cards this year. I will be sending them to a couple of my friends. They do not know who yet and I don't want to spoil the surprise, so I won't say just yet.

This image is from QKR Stampede and I think I won it in a challenge. It is called Irish Man with a clover and it is adorable.  I snuck a peak over at their challenge and their theme is Friendship, so I can play along.

The image was a freebie from Snoopy's Homemade Fun. I just got it a few days ago and I knew I would use it right away.

Spring has Sprung?

It is a lazy Sunday afternoon. I have not been doing much crafting today, been hanging out with my hubby, but he is taking a nap now, so I thought I would sneak in and do a quick post.

We picked up some flowers and plants yesterday at the nursery, hopefully the frost has passed and we are smooth sailing into Spring. Put me in the mood to make some Spring cards and this is what I came up with.

I am still working with my rubber stamps and this one is from The Fraser Collection called "Spring Bear."

I found the sketch over at Sketch Saturday. The paper is from DCWV called "the Cafe Mediterranean." Flowers and buttons from my stash.

The sentiment is a freebie from Paper Crafts Magazine and worked perfectly for the final touch.

Suzy Bee's Bloomin Challenge #17 - Make it Whimsical

Hurray for Saturday. Time to start another challenge over at Suzy Bee's Bloomin Challenges. This week our theme is whimsical. Sounds fun huh?

Our sponsor this week is Stampin Boutique and they have some fabulous images to work with.
The image I worked with this week is called Hidden fairy. I have never made a round easel card before so when I saw this image, that is what came into my mind.

Here is a closer look at the sentiment. I found it on line and thought it worked pretty well.

So get whimsical! Can't wait to see what you come up with

Black & White Shabby Chic

I am feeling a little under the weather today. My husband is just getting rid of his cold and I think he gave it to me. I like presents and all, but he could have kept this one to himself. In any case, I wanted to share a post of a black and white card I made over the weekend.

I had never heard of Shabby Chic" until I started joining challenges. To describe these types of cards I always used "Vintage Inspired." Well regardless, I love making these types of cards. I don't use my rubber stamps often enough, so I made a point to try and use them more often.

The rubber stamps is from Hampton Art and is one of my favorites. It works great with black and white cards. Lots of layering on this one. Designer paper, doily ribbon and brads from my stash. The sentiment comes to you compliments of Created with TLC.

With Love from Goonkie

I come to you today to share a card I am sending to my Aunt in New Mexico. I lost my Uncle this morning and my heart is sad. It is funny how you may not speak to someone in a while, but your heart can still hurt when you loose someone that was a very big part of your life in the past.

Growing up my uncle was always around us. I spent summers with him and my Aunt as a young girl and have some very fond memories. He and my other uncle had a nick name for me and it is something I had not thought about in a while. They called me "Goonkie." Now I am not sure where that came from, but it was who I was to them. They even had a little lyric they would sing...I'm talkin about Goonks MaGoonks...

Sounds silly, but it makes me smile to think about it. My heart is heavy as I think about how in an instant, we can loose family and friends. This was sudden and unexpected, which makes the shock even harder.  My Aunt always comments on my cards on FB and is a great supporter. I am sending this to her today with my Love.

Uncle Bud, if you can hear me, know that your Goonkie loved you and you will always be a fond memory in my heart.

The sentiment was provided by Lisa over at Decosse's Dynamite Doodles. Here is a closer look:

I'm sharing this card with Word Art Wednesday.

Bit By the Bug Beginning - A New Bug is Born

Happy Wednesday, and that means a new release over at Creative Bug on the Loose. This month we are showcasing new images from the "Love is in the air" Collection. This week I would like to introduce you to "Love Struck Bear." Ahhh, aren't they sweet?

What a great image, you are not going to want to miss out on adding this to your collection. I stuck with the traditional Valentine's Day colors for my card. It seemed fitting for such a loving little couple. But you certainly do not have to limit yourself to Valentine's Day, this would be perfect for many occasions involving Love.

The image was cut out using a Spellbinders die cut called Lacy Circles. The bottom die cut is from Spellbinders as well called Asian Accents. Paper and Bow are from my stash. The sentient was a freebie from Desert Diva which worked perfectly for this loving Bear couple.

Now, how would YOU like the opportunity to win a copy of this new release? Creative Bug on the Loose  is having a draw to win a copy of Love Struck Bears. To find out what you need to do, make sure you head over to the blog and follow the directions that have been laid out.

Don't miss this exciting opportunity. Head over to Creative Bug on the Loose Now!

Coffee and Friends

I love making coffee cards. When I found this image on line I was very excited to use it. I am not sure who it is by or I would be giving credit. The paper however was a freebie from Day Dream Designs.

I typically save my freebies with the designers name, but this one must have gotten away from me. I must have been so excited when I saw it I just saved it. I put it together with a very simple layout. Used ribbon and card stock from my stash. The inside reads "A Perfect Blend." Just a fun card all around.

Mid Month - Path of Positivity - LOVE

Well, Valentine's Day has passed, but that doesn't mean we can't still celebrate LOVE. It is mid month over at PoP and we would LOVE to see you play along this month. What does love mean to you? I know it is a hard one to explain, but we would love to hear your thoughts or see a project or even both.

For my mid month inspiration I chose to work with 2 of the sponsor's images, one from Creative Bug Digitals and one for Ike's Art.

The image I used from CBD is called unfrogettable. Since I did a "Frog" theme for my 1st post, I thought it would be fun to do one for my mid post as well. I used this tag to go along with my son's Valentine treat.

I used my envelope maker to create this fun candy holder. I thought this would make a cute little Valentine. The February 14th Label is from Created with TLC and makes a nice addition to this tag.

The image I used from Ike's Art is called Mother's Day 1. I talked about Family and Love in my first post, so I thought this would be a nice card to share symbolizing a Mother's Love.

The sentiment come's from a stampin up set called Mother & Child.
Our generous sponsors have lined up some great prizes. You are not going to want to miss out. So pop on over to PoP. We would love to hear from you.
