Path of Positivity - Mid Month Post "Peace"

It is time to share my mid month post for the Challenge going on over at Path of Positivity. Our Sponsor this month is Sprinkle N Sparkle and I was fortunate to be able to work with an image of my favorite flower...The Sunflower.

Life can be so busy, it is so nice to just slow down and enjoy the little things in life. Whenever I see Sunflowers, they make me smile. I love sunflower fields and wish that I lived in an area that could grow those big magnificent flowers. My sentiment is from Decosse's Dynamite Doodles. Another fantastic creation that works so well for my card and this challenge.

So enjoy the rest of your month, have Peace in your heart and take some time to join us over at Path of Positivity.

April Progressive Challenge - Digi Stamps 4Joy

Just finished my card for the April Progressive challenge over at Digi Stamps 4Joy. Wasn't sure if I would make it this month being that I will be away from all my craft items starting Monday and I have a full weekend. Fortunately, I was able to get my image colored and card put together.

The image this month was a Red Robbin and came out wonderfully. I was able to use a few of my die cuts and added a few embellishments that I picked up after the holidays last year. So if you are not playing along, you should really check it out. It certainly has been a great way for me to get my Christmas Cards going.

This week our theme is Easter! Seems appropriate since we are just a couple of days away and I am sure that we are all making Easter cards.

This image is called flower pot with Easter Eggs.  I don't color too many Easter eggs any more, so it was fun bringing these eggs to life.

So come along and play with us. We would love to see you use one of Pattie's images. There are a few freebies on her blog, so be sure and check that out.

A New Citizen

One of the things I love about making my own cards is that I can make a card for ANY occasion. My husband works with a friend who recently obtained her citizenship. This is a very special event in her life and I wanted to make a special card that not only congratulated her, but would be a keepsake for years to come.

The internet is a wonderful thing. There are so many fantastic images out there. I wanted to find the perfect image to use for her card and knew of course it had to be vintage. I found this fantastic image on a Pinterest board called "Vintage Post Cards". I wanted to give credit, but it was just a scanned in image, so the best I can do is link to the Pinterest Board.

The coloring of the image was perfect, it matched the brown tones I wanted to use on my card. I sure hope she likes it. It is definitely a "one of a kind" card. Now I just have to find the perfect sentiment for the inside.

April Progressive Challenge - Imagine that

I have to say I am very proud of myself this year. I have faithfully participated in the 3 progressive challenges that I joined at the beginning of the year.

This month, Imagine that had a cute little set of Lady Bugs and Daisies. Their colored images are so vibrant, I just love working with them. I have these little clothes pins with Lady bugs on them and I get very excited every time I get to use them. I made another card earlier this month with Lady Bugs and was able to use that little clothes pin on that card as well.

I printed out the image on glossy paper and cut it into a tag. I used polka dot paper and washi tape from my stash along with some sticker Lady Bugs. I glued the clothes pin on with my glue gun and attached my little tag. So Cute! I just love how it looks.

Here is the set that we got for free this month:

Their sets are fantastic. Not only do you get the colored and black and white image, but you get several sentiments as well. It is well worth playing along each month!

So what are you waiting for? If you are not playing, you are definitely missing out.

Engagement Card

I was invited to an engagement part this coming Saturday and I wanted to make a special card. I didn't want to go with the traditional Black and White or Silver, but wanted to do a vintage, old fashioned looking card.

I have used this layout in the past and just changed it up a bit by adding the flowers on each corner.

The photo is from a 1940's inspired engagement shoot by Michelle Dyson. I thought it was fantastic and would look great on a card. I hope the newly engaged couple feel the same.
