613 Avenue Create - Sights & Sounds of Fall

Hello and Happy Sunday.
Ah it is so nice to be home again and playing in my craft room. I shant get too comfortable though as I am scheduled shortly to head back out to Portland again.

Well, so lets have some fun while I am in town and play along with this week's challenge over at
Theme:  Sights & Sounds of Fall
Sponsor:  Mel Jen Designs

So For my inspiration this week I worked with a fun image called Big Sweater Kid.
Oh I just love this little guy, he looks all bundled up and ready for fall.

I have had this wonderful leaf paper since last season and finally got to play with it.  The sentiment is a popular Fall sentiment, I even have it in a stamp. This one is a freebie over at Decosse's Dynamite Doodles.
The foil leaves have been part of my stash for several years. I think I got them on clearance one year, I must have bought a lot of them as they never run out.

Here is a closer look at the sentiment:

And of course the inside:

Sentiment is compliments of Snoopy's Homemade fun. If you email her, she will send it to you for FREE!

So come on Y'all and lets create sights and Sounds of Fall.

Completely Christmas - Challenge #23

I just walked in the door about 15 minutes ago from my business travels and am rushing to get my final post up as a DT member over at Completely Christmas.

I have been traveling back and forth to Portland, Oregon two to three times a month and I felt at this point, something had to give. I would have liked to step down from the traveling, but unfortunately, that is what pays the bills, so I decided to be responsible and step down from the Design Team instead.

I want to thank the team and especially Suzy for allowing me to be part of her wonderful team! I know they will continue to inspire us.

Our sponsor this week is Lacy Sunshine.

For my inspiration, I am using Flury.

It is a wonderful holiday image and just love it. The blue hair gives the card a cool sensation, just as if we were truly in snow.

So I hope my last post has inspired you to play along. Remember, only 117 days until Christmas. If you have not started your holiday cards, you still have time to play along each week~!

Creative Knockouts - Turkeys have Wings

Hello...
Time for another challenge over at Creative Knockouts.

Theme: Whimsical with Wings

With Thanksgiving coming up in a few months, I decided to make my Turkey early...he may not taste as good, but he sure looks cute!

I added a fun sentiment and there you go.

Happy Crafting!

Goolish Girls

I was in the Halloween mood this weekend and started making some Halloween cards. Now I typically create the fun, cute little cards, but when I found this image, I knew I had to use it.

I had these Keys left over from last Halloween when I bought them at a 75% discount. I try to get all my embellishments right after the holiday so that I have a good supply for the following year.

The paper I picked up at Tuesday Morning and the ribbon was part of my general stash.

It is a fun Halloween cards, and I am pleased with the way it turned out. I tried to create a contrast between cute with the doily and ribbon to goolish with the image, Key and Raven.

Hope you like it.

Completely Christmas Challenge #26 Anything Goes

Happy Saturday!
Time for another challenge over at Completely Christmas. Our themes are always anything goes as long as it is Christmas.

Our sponsor this week is one of my favorites, Bugaboo Digitals. The image is called Mr. and Mrs. Santa!

I love bugaboo images, they are so simple to color and are always very cute! I had these Naughty and Nice stickers that I bought after Christmas last year at a great discount. It is great that I have been able to use them all year long. My Ribbon is from a couple of Christmas' ago, but it never goes out of style.

Simple layout, but a very fun card.

Hope to see you over at the challenge this week!

Pattie's Creations - Altered or Recycled Challenge

Happy Friday all! It is especially happy for me as it is my 22nd Wedding Anniversary. Wow! It is hard to believe that I have been married that long. He is a wonderful guy that supports my crafting hobby. He recently converted our Family room into my craft room and it is where I sit and create nightly!

While we are still the same people, we have "altered" just a bit from our wedding day. We are definitely older, a bit grayer and unfortunately a "few" pounds heavier. But we are wiser, we are parents and we are happy. So even though something may change, it many times is even better.

So with that in mind, I want to challenge you this week to play along over at Pattie's Creations.

Theme:  Altered or Recycled

The image I chose to work with is called Dog Days of Summer. I have created a link that takes you right to it. When I saw this image, it made me smile. Especially recently with the hot summer I have been enduring here in Arizona.

So I started out with a plain gift bag.

Kind of Blah right?

Well, this cute image sure does make a difference. I also added some paw prints and bones along with a sentiment that reads:  Anyone can be cool, but Awesome takes practice!

I will be delivering some cards tonight that I made for my Aunt, and they will fit perfectly in this cute little bag. I am sure she will get a kick out of it. She just moved to Arizona, so she will appreciate the "cool" sentiment.

Well, that is it for now!

I would like to enter my gift bag into the following challenges:

Memories of Shirley Temple

I am back to kick off another challenge over at The Crafter's Cafe.

Theme:  Square Cards
Sponsor:  Beansie Doodles

Now when I was a a little girl, I loved Shirley Temple. I was a blonde little thing and my mom would curl my hair in tight curls just like Shirley. So when I saw this image, I knew I had to use it.

Red is also my favorite color, so I decided to go with the Reds on this card.
This is the first time that I used my Spellbinders Shapeabilities - Ribbon Buckles. I won this set in some Blog Candy.

I decorated the inside of my card

and even created a matching envelope.

So what are you waiting for? The theme is very easy this week so no excuses!

Riley & Company - One Layer Cards

It is time for another challenge over at Riley and Company. Our theme this week is :

One Layer Cards.

Our challenge this week is hosted by Vera.

In order to play along, you need to use a Riley and Company image. Now, if you do not have any Riley images, be sure to check out Riley and Company Designs.   I am sure you will find something you just can't live without.

Now I typically do not make one layer cards, I like to embellish. But I was certainly up for the challenge.

I got out my distressing inks and created my background. I went CAS with this card, but I think it came out pretty cute. But how could it not using this cute little Riley image with all those little Riley pups.

This set came with some great sentiments. Both sentiments work perfect for this card. If you have not played along yet, we would sure love to have you!

So come on and play along?

To play create a card using Riley and Company images. If you upload your card/project to SCS (Splitcoast Stampers) don't forget to include the keyword RILEY1714. We can't wait to see what you create.

Don't forget to check out the rest of the Design Teams blogs today to see what they created for this challenge.

Path of Positivity - Mid Month Post - Possiblities

It is the third week in August, which means we (the Design Team) get to share our mid month inspiration for our current challenge over at Path of Positivity.

Challenge:  Possibilities

Anything is Possible. We hear this phrase often, but do we truly believe it? I do. Possibilities start with a dream. But it is up to us, our drive, determination and hard work that make these possibilities into a reality. Some people may say "it is impossible". But these are the people that don't want to work to make their dreams come true. I believe, if you want something bad enough, there is always a way.

I think that is why I love this saying...There is always a way. It may not be easy, and it may not happen over night, but then again, anything worth having, is worth working for!

I haven't made a tri-fold card in a while, so I took the opportunity on this challenge to do so. I also made a matching envelope with my envelope maker. That little tool works perfectly for my odd sized cards.

So if you have not played along yet in our challenge over at Path of Positivity, we would sure love to have you. Share with us your thoughts on possibilities, or better yet, show us with a project. We would sure love to see it.

Goodbye Tension...Hello Pension - Retirement Ahhh

Hello! I sure hope everyone is enjoying their Sunday. I am a bit behind today in posting my card so I do send out apologies.

Today starts another challenge over at 613 Avenue Create.

Theme:  Anything Goes
Sponsor: Dr. Digi

I have never made a retirement card, but when I saw this image I knew exactly what I would do. I have had this sentiment for a while, but have not had a chance to use it.

I have used these cute little embellishments on a few of my other cards. I will have to find out where my friend got them because at this rate, I may run out. The sentiment is from Created with TLC. Another great freebie.

For the inside, I just typed "Happy Retirement". Nothing too fancy.

So what do ya think? Makes me wish I was retired that is for sure. Then I would have more time to craft.
So come on and play along. It is anything goes this week, so no excuses!

I had this image laying around and decided to use it for this week's inspiration. When I look at it, it makes me smile. I sure hope it inspires you to play along. Every week that goes by is one less week to get ready for Christmas.

So come on and play along. We would love to have you.

Is Wine Drinking an Activity?

Happy Thursday!
Time for another challenge over at Creative Knockouts.
Theme:  Favorite Activity
Sponsor:  Bugaboo Stamps

I love working with Bugaboo images. So I was especially excited for this challenge. The image I worked with is called 'Glass of Wine a Day'.  And what a perfect image for a Wine Tag.

Such a fun image. I even had a punch to cut out a mini wine bottle. But there is nothing better than the REAL bottle of course.

So come on and play. We would love to see what your favorite activity is.

I would like to enter my tag into the following challenges:

Is it FALL yet?

OK - So if I make enough FALL cards, does it make it FALL? Boy I wish. The summer's here in Phoenix are like a desert. Oh yea, it is a desert. Well, as they say, it is a dry heat and I have my FALL to look forward to.

So I will keep making my FALL cards. I have several Bugaboo images that I finally get to use.

It also gives me an opportunity to play along with the current challenge going on over at Catch the Bug challenge Blog. The theme is a sketch. How'd I do?

I think I will also play along with a few other challenges:

Tim Holtz 12 Tags 2014 - August

It has been a while since I have participated in Tim's 12 Tags of 2014. So no better time than the present. Especially since I just bought some new distress paints and stain

Now I had never worked with distress paint or stain, so this was a first for me. I made several tags and this one came out the best.

I was pretty happy with the way my tag came out. I used 3 Distress Paints for the background:

  • Rusty Hinge
  • Vintage Photo
  • Forest Moss
The main Distress Stain I used was Broken China. You can see how vibrant that color is on the background of the Butterflies. I went with a 'B' theme using the word Beautiful and a Butterfly Stamp and washi tape I also tried out my new stencil that I had won in some blog candy. It added nicely to the background. I added the a capital letter 'B' and finished off with a few embellishments and ribbon.

Here is a closer look. I am typically not a big fan of glitter, but I loved the Rust look on Tim's tag, so I added a little vintage photo glitter on the bottom of my tag to get the same affect.

Well, that is it for now. I hope you like it.  It was a lot of fun trying some new techniques to create this fun, colorful tag.

I sure hope you like it.

I would like to share my tag with

TIME to Create Memories

I just got some new toys...and of course I had to play with them. I decided to finally buy some of Tim Holtz' Distress Inks and Paints. His work is so awesome, I  easily get discouraged when my projects don't come out as cool looking as his do. But then I have to remind myself he has had lots of practice and an endless supply of craft tools and supplies.

So I decided to go with the theme of Time so that I can participate in the current challenge going on over at A Vintage Journey.

Here is the finished product:

I started out with a TAG

I think my colors came out great. I was concerned it would be a little bit too dark, but I was happy with the final results.

From there, I just started putting my card together.

I had an embossing folder that worked perfect for this theme. I picked up the designer paper just yesterday at Tuesday Morning.

I used several embellishments to add to my TIME theme. I picked up some jewelry jump rings and clasps so that I could attach my charms to the ribbon rather than just glue them to my card.

And of course I had to finish off the inside of my card to match the theme. I plan on making a matching envelope as well.

I would like to enter my card into the following challenges:
